My Favorite Children Book: Green Eggs and Ham: By, Dr. Seuss

The reason that I loved Green Eggs and Ham, my mom read me this book every night because it was the only book I wanted her to read. When I was pregnant with my daughter I read the same book to my tummy. I read other books too. Green Eggs and Ham was my favorite. When she got older I would try to skip pages in the book to see if she was paying attention. She would stop me and say no mommy you miss a page.

  1. Tonetta,
Isn't if funny how children begin to know when we are trying to pull one over on them. My children always seemed to know when I was trying to skip pages or paragraphs because I was tired and just wanted to be done reading. Now that my children are older there is no way of skipping because they are following along as I read. I also treasure this time now more than ever because I know it won't be too long and they will not want to cuddle with mom and have me read them to. We love Dr. Seuss in our house too. Most children love the catchy rhymes and funny made up words. What a great book to pass on down the generations of your family. Did you and your daughter ever make green eggs and ham to eat?

  2. Tonetta,
WE have a Green Eggs and Ham lunch every year on Dr. Seuss's birthday. It is hilarious! The look on the children's faces is priceless, and the parents love the idea!

  3. Tonnetta. I have a lot to learn about blogs too. I know I commented on your blog yesterday, but I'm going back, and now I can't find my comment. Frustrating. So this may be a duplicate, if you find my response somewhere on your page. I wanted to let you know that you chose a book we all know and love. I wonder why we all know it and remember it so well. Could it be it's rhyming pattern and the high probability that we all had at least one food we refused to eat even if we were threatened with going to bed without dinner? Thanks for sharing, Sam I am!
